Frontier Damascus w/ walnut handle

Here’s your chance to own a tool that will last you generations with proper use and care. This is a great heirloom piece whether you’re wanting something that you can use to gut and skin a lifetime of harvests with or to cut bales of hay open. This knife is great for you.

The knife is forged from a billet of twisted 15n20 & 1084 made here in house not some random bar made in a factory overseas. (All of the steel I use to create my knives comes from a reputable supplier here in the US, that gives me consistent results especially when it comes to heat treating). With its thin shape it holds a great edge. It has an aged walnut handle made from walnut that was locally sourced also known as it came from my firewood pile(some wood is just too pretty to burn). The handle is attached with a steel pin holding it together mechanically . It also has a poured pewter bolster which has been seen historically on knives of the past. The knife is sold with the sheath seen in the photos which is made from heavy saddle skirting leather and is also pre-aged, the sheath can be worn either left or right due to the shape being universal. On this sheath I decided to experiment with different colored threads to give you the reminder that everything I build is made here in the USA (Due to the aging process on the sheath the white thread does look a little dirty which should wear off once it’s used everyday) The whole reason behind the name “Frontier Damascus” is it’s based off of examples of knives made around the late to early/mid 18th & 19th centuries. Granted true “Damascus” steel also known as wootz has been around since around 500 B.C. or so layered steel like we know today is a lot more recent. Most of the knives made around the 18th & 19th century were more often than not made from either a mono-steel or even sometimes a mix of wrought iron with a steel edge. Though this knife isn’t completely historically correct I still wanted something that stood out from the other “Damascus” steel knives you see giving it my signature touch of aging to it. Even by leaving some of the file marks still in the blade. To help show off the handmade aspect of it. 

Every knife that comes out of my shop is completely hand forged, hand filed, and handmade using the most basic tools from start to finish.

Any damage caused to the knife or breakage is on the owner of the knife and will NOT be refunded for such uses that I listed above.***
