This is one of the many new classes I’m offering out of my home shop in Menlo Iowa. For this class you’ll start out with a pattern welded steel billet that I’ll supply to you, where I’ll teach you to forge a knife from start to finish. From the basic forging process, to filing, adding a handle, to shaping, then sharpening. This class should take roughly two days from start to finish. Due to the price of material and consumables, along with wear and tear to my equipment. The price may seem steep, but I do believe that it’s well worth it. I plan to start teaching these classes from late winter to early spring of 2026. Sign up today, and I’ll get you on the list. ***Note*** the class will be focused around small skinning or kitchen knife.
For all my classes if you don’t show up or cancel more than 3 times for the scheduled dates you forfeit your spot in the class and will have to repurchase the class, so I recommend showing up the first time. Also make sure to dress for the weather my shop is not insulated the best, and it can be extremely cold or too hot sometimes so make sure to dress appropriately. Preferred clothes to wear are jeans and cotton shirt. Also bring gloves, safety classes, and hearing protection.
